Prova: Delivering both innovation and heritage

Accelerating change and driving commercial growth go together like an Austin A40 at Goodwood and a cutting edge EV derived from Formula E’s remarkable laboratory of sparky tech. Let us explain!

Richard Postins is not averse to thrashing the dextrous retro racing icon that is the Austin A40, or indeed the wonderful 1983 Rover SD1 Vitesse TWR (below). But when he’s not doing that he’s running one of the UK’s most established and progressive communication and commercial specialist Public Relations businesses – Prova. Postins has won multiple UK and European series across historic Sportscars & Touring Cars, racing now with Grove Motorsport, one of the UK’s fastest growing historic motorsport specialists, invested in by Prova.

That racing ethic has informed work alongside many of the world’s leading OEMs, as Prova has launched numerous EVs, including Honda e & MG ZSe, while being at the forefront of EV innovation across the last decade and more.

Bringing some of the most iconic EV charging technologies to market, including myenergi and Sevadis’s MaxiCharger range, Prova also became a leader in explaining how fast charging infrastructure and technology could help change the landscape of automotive engineering and subsequently consumer experience.

Diversity has also driven commercial growth by Prova for Tidal Transit & Charge Offshore’s marine electrification solutions as part of its sustainability charge to help clients inform the world of their broadminded innovations.

Yet, it is much more than campaigns and activations that Prova has majored and succeeded in. Delivering UK future mobility thought leadership for AA Business Services & its journey from roadside recovery to EV transition leader, Prova invests in its own future mobility portfolio, including Voltloader & Clearwatt, both at the helm of EV innovation. And Prova is a board adviser to the Silverstone Technology Cluster, emphasising its progressive vision.

There are tantalising and intriguing Formula E links too!

Working alongside Lord Drayson & Drayson Technologies on its EV Lola LMP land speed record holder, a firm partnership in storytelling could have expanded to the early days of Formula E had Drayson’s entry not morphed in to the Trulli Formula E entity at a late stage.

Additionally, Iain Wight, non-executive director at Prova, was a driving force behind Formula E’s GEN 3 battery, while also a director of Williams Advanced Engineering for many years before it became Fortescue Zero, an entity that is now a Formula E entrant as well as the PitBoost rapid charging tech supplier.

But it is the deep-rooted racer mentality that helps to set Prova apart from its competitors. It ran the UK’s WRC round – the Wales Rally GB – media team fir many years, helping the event to win the coveted Orange Award for best press office.

It also looks after supply chain communications programmes across motorsport for world technology and engineering leaders such as RML Group, Hewland and AP Racing,  running high profile campaigns across national and international media.

Additionally, for decades, Prova has also managed programmes for world leading OEMs including BMW, Honda, MG, Triumph, bringing millions of pounds of new investment and sponsorship into motorsport.
